Xabi Alonso Wants Real Madrid to Sell Raul Asencio

According to a report by Bolasport.com, Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso reportedly wants the club to offload young academy graduate Raul Asencio following a costly blunder in the 2025 Club World Cup semifinal.

The 22-year-old defender made a crucial error against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) — a poor first touch in the penalty box allowed Ousmane Dembele to snatch the ball away.

Although Thibaut Courtois managed to block Dembele’s shot, the rebound fell to Fabian Ruiz, who slotted the ball into the net in the sixth minute of the match.

The early mistake made Asencio a target of heavy criticism from Madrid fans, prompting Alonso to reportedly demand the club to sell the player.
