JuniorGP Tragedy: Pedro Acosta harshly criticizes organizers’ decision

According to MotoGP Germany press conference at Sachsenring, Pedro Acosta expressed his sharp criticism regarding the fatal incident involving Borja Gomez at Nevers Magny-Cours circuit, France — the 20-year-old rider who died following an accident during JuniorGP free practice.

The tragic incident occurred during the third series of 2025 JuniorGP — a championship that is part of the Road to MotoGP program, where two Indonesian riders, Muhammad Kiandra Ramadhipa and Veda Ega Pratama, also compete in different classes.

“I knew him since childhood because our homes were only 30 minutes apart,” stated Acosta, who comes from the same Murcia region as Gomez.

The Baby Shark strongly criticized the organizers’ decision to continue the event after the fatal incident — a decision he felt disrespected the tragedy that had just occurred on the track.
