According to Telegraph, Bernie Ecclestone offered pointed comments about Christian Horner’s dismissal from his Red Bull Racing team principal position — a role he held for two decades.

The private messaging scandal involving Horner and a female employee became the starting point of a series of internal issues that led to his termination. “He acted like a 20-year-old man — despite being 50 years old,” Ecclestone stated.

“This business that he got involved with 18 months ago, he was just an idiot,” Ecclestone said in his interview.

The 94-year-old former Formula 1 boss also revealed structural issues at Red Bull Racing — too much power concentrated at the Milton Keynes headquarters under Horner’s leadership. The situation deteriorated after the passing of Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz.

“Christian was the chief executive. If I’m the chief executive of a company, I want to be in charge. I want to do all the things that I think are right, and if I’m wrong, they can fire me,” Ecclestone added.
