Jordan Henderson Officially Parts Ways with Ajax Amsterdam

Jordan Henderson has officially ended his tenure at Ajax Amsterdam — the contract that was supposed to run until June 2026 is now terminated early at the player’s request.

The former Liverpool captain joined Ajax in January 2024 after a brief spell in the Saudi Pro League — his departure comes amid mourning for his former teammate’s passing.

“It was an honor to represent this incredible institution. My only regret is that we couldn’t deliver more success for the amazing supporters,” stated Henderson in his announcement.

New Ajax coach John Heitenga confirmed the departure of the 35-year-old player — he mentioned that the separation has been well resolved between Henderson and the club’s technical director.

The midfielder with 83 England caps previously won the Premier League and Champions League with Liverpool under Jürgen Klopp’s management.
