Malaysia U-23 coach not satisfied despite consecutive victories

Approaching ASEAN Cup U-23 2025, Malaysia U-23 national team coach Nafuzi Zain expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s performance — despite securing two victories in recent friendly matches.

The tournament scheduled in Jakarta and Bekasi this mid-July places Malaysia in Group A — alongside Indonesia, Philippines, and Brunei Darussalam.

In their final preparation, the Young Tigers defeated Melaka FC 4-1 in a friendly match in Kuala Lumpur — adding to their positive record after their previous victory.

“Despite improvements in our game, there are still many aspects we need to work on before the tournament begins,” stated Nafuzi, who previously coached Terengganu FC.
