Jorge Martin Returns to MotoGP Track After Long Injury Recovery

Jorge Martin has finally returned to MotoGP action after approximately three-month absence — completing test sessions with Aprilia RS-GP at Misano Circuit.

The reigning world champion suffered serious injuries at Qatar GP resulting in pneumothorax and rib fractures. Since that incident, Martin has only participated in one of the first eleven races of 2025 season.

“Being able to ride a MotoGP bike after recovery — this means more than anything else that’s happened,” Martin stated after testing.

“Being back on track after experiencing more than twenty fractures makes me very happy.”

The Misano test focused on riding posture adjustment, with Martin completing around 29 laps in morning session and similar number in afternoon without significant incidents.

Despite successful testing, Martin and Aprilia team decided to postpone his racing comeback until Czech GP at Brno next week — considering German Circuit’s tight corners and heavy braking conditions not ideal for injury recovery.
