Estevao Rejects Chelsea Call-Up for Club World Cup 2025

According to Sun Sport, Estevao Willian — Chelsea’s new wonderkid — has made a surprising decision to turn down the opportunity to join the Blues for the remainder of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

The decision came after a dramatic quarter-final match, in which Chelsea defeated Palmeiras 2-1 at Lincoln Financial Field. Cole Palmer opened the scoring in the 16th minute, Estevao equalized early in the second half, before an own goal from Agustin Giay in the 83rd minute sealed the win for Chelsea.

Despite being offered the chance to join his new Chelsea teammates, the young Brazilian talent opted to return to his homeland — wanting to give a proper farewell to Palmeiras, the club that raised him.

Chelsea is now just one step away from winning the 2025 Club World Cup — a historic moment their new wonderkid, unfortunately, won’t be part of.
