Joao Pedro’s Double Strike Takes Chelsea to Club World Cup Final

Joao Pedro delivered a stellar performance with two goals that propelled Chelsea into the 2025 Club World Cup final after defeating Fluminense at MetLife Stadium.

The 23-year-old striker breached Fluminense’s defense in the 18th minute with a powerful flick from outside the penalty box — followed by his second goal in the 56th minute through a brilliant individual effort.

This victory brings significant financial rewards for Chelsea — the club receives 22 million pounds, nearly matching half of Pedro’s transfer fee of 55 million pounds.

“Both teams (PSG and Real Madrid) are great teams,” said Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, commenting on potential final opponents.

Chelsea has now accumulated total earnings of 80 million pounds from their tournament participation and achievements — Maresca’s team is just one step away from claiming their second Club World Cup title following their first success in 2022.
