Trump to attend Club World Cup final in New Jersey

Donald Trump announced during a cabinet meeting that he will attend the Club World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey — the venue that will also host the 2026 World Cup final.

This announcement coincides with the opening of FIFA’s representative office in Trump Tower, New York — where the Club World Cup trophy will be displayed until the final match.

“We have received such big support from the government and the President through the White House Task Force for the Club World Cup and next year’s World Cup,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

This expanded tournament is considered a preparation for the 2026 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico with 48 national teams.

Despite strict immigration policies and travel bans for 12 countries raising concerns ahead of the 2026 World Cup, Infantino assured that the world will be welcomed in the US for this quadrennial event.
