Owen Rahadiyan Leads Persipura Jayapura in Pursuit of Liga 1 Promotion

Owen Rahadiyan has been officially appointed as the manager of Persipura Jayapura for the 2025/2026 Liga 2 season, according to a report by Bolasport.com.

The club, known as the Black Pearl, is currently holding a training camp under head coach Ricardo Salampessy at Yogyakarta State University, Wates. The pre-season program is scheduled to run until early August as the team intensifies preparations for the new campaign.

Persipura has assembled a 35-man squad, including three foreign players, while all local players are homegrown talents from Papua — reaffirming the club’s commitment to developing regional football identity and pride.

Owen Rahadiyan enters his role with a clear and ambitious mission: to guide the Papua-based club back to Liga 1 for the 2026/2027 season. Promotion has been set as the club’s primary target for the upcoming Liga 2 campaign, as Persipura looks to restore its legacy in Indonesian top-flight football.

Persipura, one of the most storied clubs in Indonesia, is aiming to return to its former status as a dominant force in the national league after their relegation in recent years.
