Man City Set to Meet Their ‘Relatives’ in Italy for Pre-season Match

Manchester City will travel to Sicily to face Serie B side Palermo FC — two teams operating under the City Football Group (CFG) ownership.

The friendly match titled Anglo-Palermitan Trophy is scheduled to take place at Renzo Barbera Stadium on August 9, 2025 — coinciding with Palermo FC’s 125th anniversary celebration.

Pep Guardiola will face off against Palermo’s new coach, Filippo Inzaghi — the former AC Milan striker who joined the club three weeks ago.

“We proudly announce this historic meeting between two CFG member clubs,” stated Riccardo Bigon, CFG’s Global Football Technical Director. “This match provides an important opportunity for players to continue pre-season preparation and managers to implement their ideas.”
