Ferrari 499P to Race at Minimum Power in Interlagos WEC

Ferrari 499P to Race at Minimum Power in Interlagos WEC

According to WEC official information, the Ferrari 499P Hypercar will undergo significant performance changes for this weekend’s Interlagos race — the car will operate at minimum power of 480kW.

Balance of Performance changes require this defending champion to lose 35kW compared to last month’s Le Mans and 9kW from Spa race. The minimum weight has also increased by 27kg from Le Mans and 12kg from Spa levels.

The new BoP system for this season bases its calculations on the average of three previous races:

  • Qatar
  • Imola
  • Spa

Compared to last year’s appearance at Interlagos, the 499P will be 9kg heavier and lose 23kW of power — though compensated with power increase above 250km/h from 1.8% to 5.5%.

Toyota GR010 HYBRID — which dominated at Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace last year — will maintain its 1069kg weight as in Spa with an additional 5kW power. Meanwhile, Porsche 963 and Cadillac V-Series receive power boosts but with reduced minimum weight.

The Sao Paulo 6 Hours race as the fifth round of WEC 2025 will start on July 11 at 11:00 local time.
