England Face Crucial Match Against Netherlands at Euro 2025

According to BBC, England’s national team — the defending European champions — face a critical situation ahead of their match against Netherlands at Letzigrund Stadium, Zurich.

The 2-1 defeat to France in the opening game was a heavy blow for Sarina Wiegman‘s squad — marking the manager’s first Euro tournament loss since taking charge of England.

In contrast to England, the Netherlands team impressed with a 3-0 victory over Wales. Their star striker, Vivianne Miedema, recorded her 100th international goal in that match.

“I’m disappointed there were some cheap sort of emotional defending in the first half, when you take waves of attack like that you leave yourself open to those sorts of things,” stated Leah Williamson after the France defeat.

Both teams report no injury concerns ahead of this crucial fixture. Lauren James, who recently recovered from a hamstring injury, started against France — her first start since April.

The match will be broadcast live on BBC One on Wednesday night, with referee Edina Alves appointed as the match official.
