Kluivert Ready to Lead Indonesia National Team to World Cup Qualifiers Fourth Round

Kluivert Ready to Lead Indonesia National Team to World Cup Qualifiers Fourth Round

Patrick Kluivert, head coach of the Indonesia national team, has declared his squad’s readiness to face the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers – Asian Zone, undeterred by a heavy defeat against Japan.

The Garuda squad fell 0-6 to Japan in their final Group C match, but the result did not hinder their qualification for the next round.

“For the fourth round, as I said, we must learn from this big defeat,” said Kluivert, who acknowledged it as the team’s biggest loss since he took over earlier this year.

Focus shifts to October campaign

Despite the loss, Indonesia’s journey continues. Kluivert’s team will return to action in October, with opponents to be confirmed after the full list of qualified teams is finalized.

Meanwhile, Japan has secured direct qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup after finishing as Group C winners.
