NASCAR Cup Series will return to action after a brief break — competition continues at the challenging Talladega Superspeedway this weekend.

The entry list shows 39 drivers will take to the track, including 36 chartered teams and three non-charter entries. The non-charter teams participating are J.J. Yeley with NY Racing Team, Anthony Alfredo with Beard Motorsports Chevrolet, and B.J. McLeod with Live Fast Motorsports.

In the Xfinity Series, competition will be even tighter — 41 cars will compete for 38 available slots. Two names drawing attention are Katherine Legge who will drive the Jordan Anderson Racing Chevrolet, and Jeffrey Earnhardt with Sam Hunt Racing Toyota.

Jeffrey Earnhardt — grandson of the late Dale Earnhardt Sr. and nephew of Dale Earnhardt Jr. — will make his 175th career start in the Xfinity Series. Talladega holds special significance for him, as he achieved his career-best second-place finish here in 2022.

Katherine Legge hopes to turn things around after failing to qualify at Rockingham last week. Meanwhile, Jesse Iwuji will return to racing after more than two years away, joining DGM Racing team.
