23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports File New Legal Action Against NASCAR

According to federal court documents, 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports have taken new legal action after the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals revoked their previous preliminary injunction protecting their charters.

The racing teams filed a motion for a temporary restraining order and new preliminary injunction — aiming to maintain their charters through the 2025 season, before the scheduled trial on December 1st.

The teams claim receiving a letter from NASCAR indicating plans to sell their charters to other parties. NASCAR quickly responded — calling this action improper and requesting a swift court decision.

Each team holds three charters from the total of 36 highly valuable charters — worth tens of millions of dollars each. NASCAR also states both teams refuse to return money earned from the 2025 Charter Agreement.

“It is unfortunate that 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports are burdening the District Court with a third motion for another unnecessary and inappropriate preliminary injunction,” stated NASCAR’s official release.

NASCAR emphasizes its attempts to end this legal battle, but both teams remain unresponsive to resolution efforts.
