16 Teams Ready to Compete in Women’s Euro 2025 with Record Prize Money

The 2025 Women’s European Championship will be held in Switzerland from July 2-27 — with total prize money doubled to €41 million.

Sixteen national teams will compete for the title, with each federation guaranteed a minimum of €1.8 million and 30% must be allocated to players. The winning team has the opportunity to earn up to €5.1 million.

In tournament history since 1982, only five nations have lifted the trophy — Sweden, Netherlands and England once each, Norway twice, while Germany dominates with eight championships.

As hosts, Switzerland will open the tournament against Norway on July 2. Favorites like world champions Spain, defending champions England, and Germany are placed in different groups.

  • Group A: Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Finland
  • Group B: Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Italy
  • Group C: Germany, Poland, Denmark, Sweden
  • Group D: France, England, Netherlands, Wales

With a new format and increased prize money, Euro 2025 is predicted to be the biggest women’s football tournament in European history.
