According to Melbourne City’s official website, Mathew Baker — a 15-year-old Indonesian player — has officially joined the club’s U-21 development squad.

This young talent will be a key player for Indonesia U-17 National Team facing South Korea in their Group C opening match of the 2025 Asian Cup tonight.

Baker has proven his quality with Garuda Asia — he made significant contributions in two tournaments last year that led Indonesia to secure third place in ASEAN Cup U-16 and qualify for Asian Cup U-17 finals in Saudi Arabia.

The Melbourne City academy product — a club under City Football Group alongside Manchester City — received promotion from U-18 to U-21 team about a month ago, showing significant progress in his career.
